THE CHRISTIAN ATTIRE

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
(Colossians 3:12 NIV)

“The way you dress is the way you are addressed” this is a popular saying! How true is that?

Do you expect to see an Anglican or Orthodox pastors blessing the communion in Jeans and T-shirts? When you behold such scene, you’ll assume it is not an orthodox church! Do you expect to see armies going to war with Manchester United Jersey? Or Chelsea getting ready to play with army uniforms?

It is like going to the law court to see the judge performing his legal duties on designers shirt, golf cap and cool sneakers! Doctors are meant to dress like one, nurses are meant to dress like nurses… We can go on and on!

Why should they dress the way they dress? It is simply because they may be addressed wrongly if they dress wrongly!

The big question now is, how do Christians dress? What is there dress code? Paul mentioned it

1. Compassion
2. Kindness
3. Humility
4. Gentleness
5. Patience

This can only be achieved when we love every one around us! Jesus gave us two laws “to love God and man” Matthew 22:37-39

When you are not clothed in these qualities, your salvation is questionable and people will always see you as an example of unbelievers! Today, try to live free and express love to anyone around you! The disciples were called Christians not because they wore long skirts, oversized trousers and no make ups! They were called Christian because they’re clothed in righteousness!

PRAYER: Lord, help me to show people who you are through the way I associate with them! Help me to express your love to people, so that they can indeed believe that God changes life.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to show people who you are through the way I associate with them! Help me to express your love to people, so that they can indeed believe that God changes life.
