THE ANGRY GOD?

I don’t think God is that very mean, angry and condemning man we present often times…

He is rather disciplinary but loving and caring. It is His love and grace that draws us closer to Him. He disciplines us out of love but doesn’t condemn us. His disciplines are not painful but gainful.

David is always glad when he is asked to come to the house of God because he understood that God wasn’t unforgiving, mean and angry… David was always glad because God’s house is the house of mercy, love and grace…

When I was little, I can’t stay in the same room with my father because his aura scared me. He took every little mistake serious and dealt with me for each of them. His voice alone was loud, mean and millitary-toned. So, I felt unworthy to be in his presence. It affected my relationship with him and till date I am not so free with him and cannot chat and laugh with him.

This is how many people see God due to the misinformation prevalent in the past. One big truth is that God took every mistake serious but he dealt with those mistakes and gave us hope of a better life. Unlike our earthly fathers he didn’t say we were useless, he didn’t say we were idiots…

I teach about God who loves us beyond measure… I talk about that God which nothing can separate us from His love and we pattern our lifestyles using God’s love letter to us as our guide and the light unto our path…

Let me show you few places in the bible and from there we can see that God is not that mean and angry God many preachers have presented

In John 3:16, God loves us beyond measure that he gave up Jesus to have us! What a love, what kind of God is this that even the death of a sinner makes him sad. What about His commandments? Obeying God is a way of showing our own love for Him. Just like a loving father who also expect love from his children, God expect us to also love him

“In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome” 1 John 5:3

God’s command is not the commands of Moses… It it is not the commands of the old Jewish leaders. Concerning that Jesus said

“They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.” Matthew 23:4

But concerning God and his loving commandments giving through Jesus, he said

“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Hear more about God’s love.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1

I may still go further to present to you how loving God is and how generous He is in mercy. Perhaps people have presented a mean and angry God to you. It is time to hear the truth about God, it is time to acknowledge God’s love and worship Him in love and not in fear.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

Stay blessed always.
