JESUS: MY ANSWER TO MUSLIMS

Okay, some minutes ago, I bumped into a show where Muslims were discussing about Jesus Christ and the Christmas. They agreed Jesus is a great prophet of God, they agreed He is the Messiah and they even passionately said they love Jesus so much. But then, they tried implying that the Christian Jesus is different from the Jesus that came from God… They didn’t say it exactly but that was what they implied. This is their reason:

.

They argued that Christians are celebrating the birth of Jesus on 25th December while same date has been a date which many pagan gods were celebrated. They logically pointed out that if Christians believe that Jesus Christ is God and deserves worship, then Christians are not really worshipping God. They said that the celebration alone contradicts the nature of God as without beginning or ending. If Jesus is God, it means he has a beginning, they said. They also tried proving that Jesus Christ was not born on 25th of December.

.

Well, I think they are just very confused and don’t know anything about Christianity even though they could quote lots of scriptures. One thing people who don’t believe in Christ don’t know is that without the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to have a revelational knowledge of the Bible (John 14:26).

.

Christians does not believe Jesus was born on 25th of December, they simply chose the date to commemorate the coming of Jesus! The coming of Jesus is worth celebrating because it signifies the coming of peace and love! The coming of God in human form! So, Christians decided to fix it on 25th December in order to distract the celebration of the sun gods! Instead of celebrating a non existence sun god, our God should be celebrated! Every high hill comes down and God’s kingdom is established against any opposing establishment. (Daniel 2:44)

.

After the show, I had to respond to it and this is my response,

.

The Pagans were celebrating a myth, we are celebrating a Historical fact! The pagans were celebrating a man made god… A toy! We are celebrating God himself personified! The Pagans were celebrating a season, we are celebrating the Reason! The reason is Jesus. That it is the same date does not mean it is the same God! We know Jesus was not born on 25th of December but we are sure that Jesus was born! We aren’t celebrating a Holy Day, we are celebrating that a Holy Jesus came. Christmas replaced the pagan celebration… It did not imitate it! The perfect is capable of overcoming the imperfect. When the perfect comes, the imperfect gives way. We are celebrating a defeat of Paganism, defeat of sin and death… Significantly, Christmas overcame the celebration of saturn.

.

Now you see… We aren’t celebrating a dead god but a living God! We aren’t celebrating paganism, we are celebrating CHRISTMAS.

.

Christians don’t believe that God has a beginning or ending just like purported in the show.

.

Genesis 1:1 says “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”

John 1:2 says “in the beginning was the word (Jesus) and the word was with God and the word was God”

.
Check the vocabulary, it didn’t say “in the beginning is the word”, it would have meant that the word began in the beginning. Rather it says that before the beginning, the word was already there, he was with God and he was God.

.
It doesn’t also suggest that He is different from God because Jesus said ” if you have seen me, you have seen the father … I and my father is one” (John 10:30, 14:9)

.
While on Earth, Jesus was using the words that could be literary understood but promised the Holy Spirit who will grant us revelations of what He had said. The Bible has been unveiled through the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the manifestation of God’s word! Jesus is the personification of God’s word. God sent forth his word and that is Jesus!

.
Now, Mary is not the mother of God. Mary is simply the channel through which Jesus came to earth or through which God’s word came to fulfillment.

.
Jesus came to carry the burdens of sin, to set us free from the power of the law because no human can faithfully keep the laws of Moses or any law established. Jesus came to set us free from it. He came to bring fulfillment to the law so that we don’t have to be bound by it any more.(John 1:29, Matthew 5:17)

.
One may ask? Why would God give us law and save us from it? The law was given, so that we can appreciate God’s grace when it comes. The law was a shadow of what was to come! (Collosians 2:17, Hebrews 10:1)

.
One might also ask why people who didn’t keep the law died then? Why would God allow them to die since we wouldn’t keep the law?
The Bible says that Jesus went to the land of the dead and preached to the dead. This means, God had a way of preserving them for the coming of Jesus (His word). God said He isn’t happy with the death of sinners and so it wasn’t in his plans that anyone perish.(Ezekiel 18:32, 1 Peter 4:6)

.
Now, salvation is simply. It doesn’t come by killing unbelievers and hoping to be married to seven virgins! It doesn’t come by following some set of dos and donts. It simply comes by believing that Jesus died for our sins and set us free from the power of the law! We cannot receive what we don’t believe, we cannot accept what we reject.(John 3:16)

.
Christians don’t believe in three different Gods. We believe in God, we believe that God is one but we accept that he manifested in 3 major ways.

.
1. God the Father: we call him father not because He is married! He is not married because He don’t need to. He is all sufficient! We call Him our father in heaven because everything came from Him. We call Him father because we have a personal relationship with Him. We also call Him father because through His word (Jesus), we were adopted as SONS. Jesus died our death as sinners and granted us God’s free gift of life. We received the God kind of life into our spirit. We received the very life of God. So, Jesus died as us and resurrected. He ascended into Heaven and sat on the right hand of the father. When God wants to look at us, He sees His Word! His word says “I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy”. Jesus is His word! We have been saved and adopted by that word! (Genesis 1:1)

.

2.
God the son: this talks about Jesus. It is talking about the earthly manifestation of God via His word. Jesus came in flesh, He was conceived by God’s spirit and therefore He is God’s product! God’s son! (John 1:1, 1 John 1:1)

.

3.
God, the Holy Spirit: the holy Spirit isn’t different from God. The Holy Spirit is God’s spirit in us which Jesus promised that anyone who believes will have.(John 14:26)

.
I have one news for you… You don’t need to come to Church to become saved! You don’t need to be a Catholic, Pentecostal or member of any Church. You just need to believe that Jesus have paid the price for your sins. Is that too hard to do? (John 1:12)

.
Why not give Jesus a chance? Why not give God a chance to change you from the inside out? The Bible says ” whosoever believes shall not perish but have eternal life”… The eternal life here is a life that has no beginning or ending! You receive it in your Spirit! And your salvation is guaranteed.

.
That is why Christians don’t believe you need to be very good before you make heaven. We become good when God have touched our lives. (Ephesians 2:8)

.
All you need for you to be saved is to believe in Jesus… Believe that He died for your sins on the cross, accept him as your saviour and not just the saviour of Israel. Israel means God’s chosen people, it is beyond a single nation! God has chosed you too but it is left for you to chose Him! You can only do that through His Word (JESUS). That is all you need.

.
Waiting to hear from any open minded person who wants to discuss more in this subject. God bless you.
