One of the best blessings of life you can have is God’s peace. God’s peace brings a certain degree of calmness that you are not naturally guaranteed. It is a result of rest that comes from God.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” You see, that? When you receive God’s rest, you rest from all kinds of troubles and sorrows! God is interested in your weariness and burdens, God is concerned about you and that is why He always beckon on you to come! No wonder, Peter wrote in 1 Peter 5:7, “cast all your cares upon Him. He cares for you”.

Do you really understood Peter? He wasn’t just trying to communicate God who is caring, he wasn’t just communicating God who cares for us! He was communicating to us that we can receive and experience God’s rest when we cast our burdens to Him! How do we cast burdens to God?

Jesus asked that we come to Him. We can only cast our burdens by coming to Jesus and trusting Him to be our salvation and our peace. The same principle that applies to salvation, applies to this too! You just have to believe and keep believing! How do you react when people betray you? How do you react when you lost a loved one? How do you react when a business fail? Do you question God or do you trust Him still? There is this peace that comes from knowing God and trusting Him. We can only know God through Jesus, the Bible declared that Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life! What does that mean? I will tell you… Jesus is the way to God, Jesus is the truth about God and Jesus is the life of God!

We are not talking about some other Jesus that plays football. We are talking about Jesus who came to earth, walked with men, died and resurrected… A Jesus who ascended into the heaven, seated and reconciling all men to God! The trinity is summed up in Jesus. It is in Him that we can find peace! In Him there is no darkness! In Him, rest and peace is assured!

This doesn’t mean we might not experience “faith-shaking” challenges but it gives us more reason to trust Him even in those challenges. In Daniel 6:16, Daniel saw himself in the lion’s den but he looked away and focused on God! Even in the midst of lions, Daniel experienced God’s peace! In Daniel 3:23, Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego were being dragged to the fire, their trust was in God and even while the fire kept burning, they had peace in the fire!

Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” This is amazing! Jesus gave us His own peace. Now, in that same verse, Jesus explained how we can experience this peace, He said we mustn’t let our hearts be troubled, we must not afraid! Even in the valleys of shadows of death, David declared he will fear no evil! Why? Because he doesn’t see evil… He sees a God who is with him!

Have you been troubled by failed relationships, business, projects, academics and whatever you can mention? Have been troubled on every side? It’s time to stop worrying and start praising! It’s time to smile because God is right there with you! I join the Apostle Paul to pray for you

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”-2 Thessalonians 3:16
