I want to briefly share something with us today. We’ve always come across Psalm 90:4 and we’ve always read other meanings into it. Today, I would like you to also get an assurance of God’s faithfulness and trustworthy power! It says:

“A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”

If a thousand years are like a day that has just gone by in God’s sight, that means a day is like a second to Him. You see, you can experience God’s greatness in a flash! That situation can change in a matter of minutes, that mountain can melt in an instant if you can trust God.

It took God only a moment in a day to call forth the light. The man who invented the electric bulb was said to have tried 999 times before successfully coming up with an electric bulb but it only took a word from God for natural light to come forth! That will tell you, man may promise you something and even try a thousand times to fulfill it and still fail but when God speaks a word, He doesn’t try to fulfill it, it fulfills itself immediately. The word He has spoken moves into effect and that promise fulfills itself. We can trust God without looking back. The writer of Hebrews reminds us in 13:5

“Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with what you have. God has said, “I will never leave you; I will never run away from you.””

What is he saying when he asks us to stay away from the love of money? He isn’t saying we shouldn’t work for money, try to earn money or desire it. He is saying we shouldn’t be desperate for money as though there is no hope. Desperation for money leads to stealing, killing, prostitution, blackmailing, lying and all that! But when we trust that God is able by holding on to His promise of never leaving us, we will have peace of mind and still experience success in what we do. Like the writer of Hebrews continues to say

“So we can feel sure and say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. People can do nothing to me. (Psalm 118:6)” – Heb. 13:5‭-‬6 ERV

When you talk about God as your helper, never do that with doubt. No matter what you’re facing right now, never give up on God. Remember, Lazarus died for four days, God still proved Himself. Daniel was thrown into the Lion’s den, he should have given up but he didn’t and God proved himself. Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego were being dragged into the fire, they still trusted God and never gave up and God was with them in the fire like He promised and they were never hurt. I can go on and on to give us examples of how people trusted God to the face of death and God still proved Himself.

Right now, let go of that fear and doubt, turn to that challenge you’re facing and declare in joy “the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. You can do nothing to me… God is timeless! He can do it in seconds! He has done it already!”

Glory to God! Move in confidence and enjoy God’s presence!
