Christ in us is the hope of glory! – Col 1:27

It is not Christ “with” us but Christ “in” us!

I want you to understand this.

When the Bible says that God sealed us in Himself with the Holy Spirit, it is the revelation of who the believer in Christ has become. Let’s see how it was written

“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit” Ephesians 1:13

First, we heard the word of truth! The word of truth is the word of Jesus. Jesus says “I am the way, the truth…” The Bible calls this word of truth “the gospel of our salvation”. Check that, it is not just the gospel of salvation but the gospel of “our salvation”. The gospel means “Good News”, therefore the word of Jesus is good news that liberated us!

When we believed this good news that’s says “in me (Christ) you have been set free”, something happened. You received Jesus inside of you… I may sound a bit unorthodox. You became baptised by the Holy Spirit at that instant. Look at that verse, it says “when you heard… And believed.. “, it happened at that point of believing. The Holy Spirit is Jesus, Christ in us also means “the Holy Spirit in us”. Receiving the Holy Spirit and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit is not the same. That’s not my point today though as I had done justice to it some months ago.

However, I want you to understand what took place inside of you and why Christ in you is your hope of glory. The presence of the Holy Spirit in you is God’s mark of ownership and therefore you cannot get lost. Nothing gets lost in the care of God. God is the one holding us, if we are to stick to Him by our grips on Him, we may get weak, loose our grip and fall off! But, He is the one holding us and He has promised never to let go! He is not just with us, we may outrun or never meet up with His steps! He is in us, He works in us both to will and to do. We walk His walk, talk His talk and live His life!

Now, when you say “Christ in me is the hope of glory”, you understand what you are saying. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:5 “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.” How do I know His promises are true? Because His spirit made me His dwelling place. What is my hope? Christ in me is MY HOPE OF GLORY!

The Christian begins with rest, we work from the place of rest. Adam was created on the sixth day, he was the last creation of God and in him work finished. What does this imply? Adam met no job left undone when he manifested. His life started with rest and therefore he didn’t come working. The moment his making was over, rest started.

This is how the Christian is! He isn’t working to be saved, Jesus finished the entire work and then the new creature came to be! No wonder the Bible says we did nothing to be saved! The moment we got born again, we were born into His rest as the Bible says

“For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.” – Hebrews 4:10

In Christ we have rested from all our labors as there is nothing left to do aside that which Jesus has done. When we win souls, we are simply making them receive the life God has already given out to them and when we pray, we are simply agreeing with God and causing the things He already did to become material in the physical.

Now You See, we are enjoying rest.. We are working from the point of rest. We are not working to the point of rest because in Christ we have achieved a peaceful rest.

Peaceful rest is not for the dead but for them who are alive in Christ. Now You See, Christ is in us and we are in Christ.

Jesus is beautiful!
