God made Abraham a blessing in the sense that anyone who blesses Abraham is blessed and anyone who curse Abraham is cursed.

I need you to understand this.

Abraham was a man who walked in faith, God counted his faith as righteousness. Now, we who are believers in Christ Jesus have been blessed with that same blessing which Abraham has received. But then, I want to say something that concerns only believers. If you are not a believer in Christ, you have no business with this.

Abraham was a Prophet of God and you see that he believed in God and also understood that Melchizedek who was higher than him is a channel of blessing and he didn’t hesitate to minister material things to him. As he ministered unto Melchizedek with material things, he experienced more blessings in the process. Being people of faith, Abraham is a great example being that he was known as the father of faith.

God has given us Pastors who teach us the word and who many of us imitate as they imitate Christ. Do you know? When you minister to your Pastor in material things, you are automatically being blessed. It’s not the law, so whether you do it or not you are not condemned. But if you want to live a prosperous life on earth, you need to believe this and act it. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:11

“If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?”

Let me explain to you how this works. Paul said “we have sown…”, this means the Pastors sow seeds of the word of God in you, they minister the word that can transform your everyday life, they build you up spiritually which also changes the results you experience physically. They give you what they have, as Pastors, they have been appointed to feed you with the word, this is the assignment God has given them.

Then when they sow spiritually in you, they are expected to harvest material seeds from you! Why? Because the things they teach you blessed you and out of that blessing they reap material things from you. It is not too much to give your man of God, the more you do this, the more you are charging them to be more blessings to you.

When Abraham met Melchizedek, he recognized a man higher than him and he gave unto him, one tenth of what he got (Genesis 14:20). In Genesis 20:17, God caused Abimelek to give Abraham a thousand Shekels of silver and Abraham prayed for his wife and maid servants and they got healed.

When we give our Pastors in love and appreciation, we don’t start poke nosing to see what they did with it, we never saw what Melchizedek did with the tithe Abraham gave to him. Pastors should also help the poor, set good examples by giving charity and all of that, we must understand it’s not something we supervise and it’s not what they were called to do, it’s simply a duty we all have as humans! To love and show it.

As the year draws to its end, make out time to minister material things to those who teach you the word of God as Paul said in 1 Timothy 5:17
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”

Do this and see how blessed you are. God bless you.
