He made a public show of the devil

You see, sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the state of darkness and its leader. We need to remind ourselves of how Jesus defeated the enemy. It’s not being devil conscious, it’s a reminder that we are not only saved, but the battle was also won!

Perhaps, the more we remind ourselves of this truth, the more we are ready to do more. When you pass a dead lion, you can spit on it or climb on it without being afraid! Your boldness and audacity to climb on a dead lion are sponsored by the knowledge that the lion is powerless.

Satan was not only declawed, his weight was reduced! Satan is no longer healthy! Jesus never left for us a healthy devil, he was mortally wounded and rendered useless.

“…he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” – Colossians 2:15 NLT

Let me tell you what Jesus did, He fought an offensive battle, He wasn’t defending the kingdom of God, He offended the kingdom of darkness! Satan was finished up and mesmerized!

It wasn’t mortal combat, it was much more! Jesus plundered the enemy camp and set all the captives free! Even death couldn’t hold him down. Jesus hunted satan right into his camp and gave him the hardest blow ever known in the spirit realm!

God is a merciful God but to Satan, He showed no mercy because of his love for man. This is why the Church of Jesus Christ is marching on. We were never asked to protect the Church, to be on the defensive or to guard our gates.

The Church has no gates because we are on a consistent march! The one who has gate is the one who seeks protection but we are beyond walls, beyond borders and fortresses!

“…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” – Matthew 16:18 KJV

Do you know the meaning of prevail in this context? It means that the gates of hell shall not resist the Church because the force operates in the power of God by the Holy Spirit. Instead of defending gates, we are annexing every space and pulling down strongholds

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” – 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV

We weren’t given any defensive weapon! Our weapon of warfare is mighty through God! Our sword is made perfect by the fire of God’s! We pull down strongholds following after Jesus. It is a weapon for an offensive battle.

Don’t you know?

This is exactly what happens when we go out there preaching and living the gospel! We get our swords whetted and fight the finished fight without compromise! The fight we fight is a finished fight, there is victory guaranteed!

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” – 1 John 5:4‭-‬5 KJV

Ah! This is why we are more than conquerors. We are not apologizing for what Jesus did to the devil, we are making sure the wounded gets wounded! We are adding salt to injury!

When we preach the truth without compromise we are simply adding to the wounds of the devil. Samson killed the lion by the power of God, David killed Goliath by the power of God! All these were shadows of what Jesus would do to the devil and continue doing through us.

We will keep moving on the offensive in reverence to God. While you are at it, “…the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.” – Romans 16:20 KJV

Glory to God!
