OPEN UP, LET ME IN | A TRUE LIFE STORY

OPEN UP, LET ME IN | A TRUE LIFE STORY

Some time ago, I have been in some series of little debts that culminated to some thousands of naira when added up together. It had given me a lot of concern because I wanted to clear it and sleep without getting worried about who would call me the next morning. One evening, one of my own debtors called me and demanded my bank number. When I did, he transferred some money and it was nearly the amount I needed to offset most of these bills.

I had paid some of the bills immediately and was about continuing when I got a beep from a Pastor who had followed my platform online for about two to three years. He said he just felt like informing me of something he has been a part of and he told me about certain investment opportunities that promised a hundred per cent profit. I wasn’t interested because I have always never wanted to get myself involved with certain schemes. But he said to me

“I am a Pastor, at least, you have known me on this platform for some time now. Even if you don’t trust anyone or even me, trust the office I occupy. Trust the integrity I have built over the years. I am only doing this to help you.”

I thought about it, I wasn’t interested but he had already appealed to my emotions and if I would do it, I was only doing it based on who he was. I asked for more details which he supplied me and I went online, registered myself and paid in seventy per cent of the money I had. Not long, I got a call from their office and they acknowledged my registration and the payment and promised I would get my returns soon because of the Pastor whom they respect. I was amazed! They also asked me to send the details of the payment to the Pastor as a confirmation and I did.

On the due time of getting my returns, they called me and said a lot of things which I wouldn’t have the time to write here but the summary was that they wanted me to upgrade my investment since the only option left in their program was opportunities for a bigger package. I voiced out my fears about fraud and what looked like a Ponzi scheme to me and they sent their proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, details of business registration and other things. The caller also started laying all manner of curses on himself promising me that if they are scammers those curses will be of effect on him.

I still wasn’t convinced and I returned a call to the Pastor but he kept swearing on his integrity and office of a Pastor about the legitimacy of that stuff. He also submits to the ministry of a Pastor that I respect so much. Something in me wasn’t right about this but I had already taken the risk and I felt maybe I had to continue. I thought about the debts it would help me offset, and even have more to myself. But there was a problem. The money left in my account was not enough to upgrade my investment and I said to the Pastor “you will help me complete the money I have. When I finally receive the fund, I will refund you.” He agreed.

After several minutes, he sent me a screenshot of an unsuccessful transaction and said he was having issues with his bank app. Something in me felt uneasy about this but I was stubborn to listen to my intuition. I wasn’t doing this because I desperately needed money even though if I got it, it would be helpful. I was only doing it because the Pastor appealed to my emotion and the major reason I was doing it was that he wanted me to do it and I trusted him. I had to call a sibling who sent me some money to complete the one I had and I sent to them.

To cut the long story short.

I waited and waited but I wasn’t paid. The Pastor blacklisted my number and blocked me on social media. The person who served as the customer care agent also warned me to stop calling his number. I almost ran mad! I thought about the debts I was supposed to settle, I thought about the additional debt I had incurred to myself, I thought about how I was left stranded in the middle of nowhere, I thought about how I had used even the money I was supposed to use for transport and purchase groceries for myself. To be frank, my entire month’s earning had gone and I would have to live another moment of fear and panic from one point to another trying to settle debts.

I knew what to do, I wasn’t hopeless, I knew I had the pictures of that Pastor and I knew I could easily write about the fraud and submit to bloggers. I knew I could tarnish his image entirely if I wanted it and he wasn’t hard stuff for me to trace if it was my desire. I also knew with proof that I could freeze the account they had used. I have helped people in this regard before and I was ready to go an extra mile and see that the Pastor’s image gets destroyed. I was ready to even sponsor an advert on Facebook that would announce him in a negative manner with proof on how I got defrauded by him.

One of the nights, I had already launched different Facebook accounts with different identities and I planned on using these different accounts to circulate allegations on him and ensure I destroy his public image completely and I was on my bed smiling at the drama that was going to ensue, I was enjoying the imaginations. Suddenly, I heard a voice say loudly in my heart

“George, you were greatly wronged but you must do nothing about this.”

I knew this was God but I always didn’t like it when God interfere in some of these matters because He usually makes me do things that portray me as a coward before men. I was once hit by a conductor in the eyes and I wanted to do something about it but God didn’t just ask me to stop, He asked me to forgive Him on that spot. I have always seen myself in several situations where people don’t just bully me but add the line “you will do nothing” when I know I can do something terrifying to them and then God would say to my heart “yes, do nothing.” So, when God started speaking to me on ignoring whatever had happened, I didn’t feel good about it. After some hours, I insisted I was going to go ahead to deal with that Pastor. I even tried convincing myself that it wasn’t God speaking to my heart. I felt it was a moral thing to do, to tarnish his image and also prevent him from defrauding others. In my heart, I knew I wasn’t doing it for others but to satisfy my anger.

Well, I insisted I was going ahead with my plans and I slept on the thought of that. The next morning, I was already in the office working on the press kit that I’d release to bloggers and of course I had also prepared the strategy with which I would launch my attack. I am creative, no doubt about that and when I narrated my plans to a colleague, she was shocked to the bones that she said “I am afraid of you! If you had decided to go into cyber-criminality, your creativity is enough to pull money. This guy is gone for good.” I couldn’t wait for this to enter into full force, I couldn’t wait to see this fraudulent Pastor get on his knees begging me to stop. The way I had planned it, I was going to attack his personality without even coming out to the scene! I would attack him while my own image remains protected.

Guess what?

That morning again, I heard it clearly as God said to my heart again “George, stop!” I was wondering why I should stop, I remember being stranded and how I was beaten by the rain to a point it later challenged my health that I even slept on the hospital bed. I was able to connect the issue to several challenges I had after then but God continued “George if you ever do anything about this, you are simply asking me to leave it all up to you. But if you want me to fight my fight, then let me handle it the way I want to.”

If it is the God I serve, I was afraid He wouldn’t handle it in a manner I had wanted. I knew He might eventually be merciful to him, I knew He might still go ahead and show him His love. I wanted to see God punish him! And another line of words got dropped in my heart saying

“George, I will handle this. You may not even get to see how I handle it but if you want to trust me, then trust me. Open up those circumstances and let me in, open up your hurts and let me in! Open up your challenges and let me in. Open up that disagreement you have with people and let me in. This is how you open your heart and allow me to rule!”

I broke down, I held CRTL + A button on my keyboard and I pressed the DEL button. Everything got wiped off! I gave up on myself and I gave in to God. And then I heard another word clearly in my heart saying

“It is true that certain offence seems more painful than others. But, you have also offended people in one way or another. This is why I said in my word “forgive others as you have been forgiven.” Even if people don’t forgive you, I forgave you even before you realized it. You got defrauded by a fellow because you trusted him, take the lessons but leave vengeance to me. Let me deal with it. Don’t bother yourself how I do it because my judgment is perfect! Are you letting me in?”

“Yes Lord,” I said “I am letting you in. I chose to forgive, I chose to let go!”

And I’d let go, I didn’t just let go of my plans, I also forgave him in my heart and my heart has remained at peace. Maybe, God used it to also save me from further mistakes! He didn’t initiate it, but He used it after all. I learnt I shouldn’t trust any man regardless of the title they parade! Who knows? It would have been millions or billions of naira in the future but because of yesterday, I can’t make the same mistake tomorrow. Maybe the money I lost was my tuition fee.

Now, I ask you the same thing I was asked “Can you open up your heart? Are you letting Him in into those circumstances?”

DARKEXIT | Mystery of the sons of God!

DARKEXIT | Mystery of the sons of God!

I was inspired to write on this by Favourwealth Onumba, I read her Facebook status which says “When God sees us today, He sees Jesus. That’s reassuring. “ And it seemed like I got a push to write on it, it came like a floodlight and I couldn’t resist it or do anything else but just lay hands on my keyboard and start writing. It is long but it is revealing!

One of the most amazing unravelled mystery about believers in Christ Jesus isn’t just that we are in good standing with God, it is not that we have been declared the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and it is not that we have been saved from darkness into God’s marvellous light, all of those are awesome and they are tangible truths about the believer in Christ Jesus. But one of the truths I consider more amazing is that it is no longer about you but about Jesus. God isn’t seeing us anymore, He is seeing Jesus. He looks at you and He is looking at His only begotten Son, Jesus. The death and resurrection of Jesus only multiplied Jesus.

Staring at this amazing truth in the face, Paul wrote in Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” We may not have been there when Christ was crucified on the cross, but Christ was crucified on our behalf, He chose to carry our burden that we may live His life. This is why Paul said, “I no longer live but it is Christ who lives in me.” Do you understand this? Let’s look at the next phrase in that same verse, He said: “The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” We may not grasp the truth here if we rush this verse, so we will look at it slowly again and am sure you’d be excited about the truth revealed herein.

“The death and resurrection of Jesus only multiplied Jesus.”

First of all, Paul identifies the beginning of his new nature and he starts with “I have been crucified with Christ…” He may not have been there when Christ was crucified, he was not among the two robbers that were crucified alongside Jesus but he was bold to say “I have been crucified with Christ”, not beside or behind Christ but with Christ! This is because Christ was crucified on his (our) behalf. In the spiritual sense of it, we were with Christ on that cross because Christ carried our sin problem to the cross! And then Paul went on to say tell us what been crucified with Christ had resulted to and he wrote: “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” In Romans 6:7 the Bible says because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.” Because we died, our sins were dead and buried with Christ. This is a spiritual truth and may not make so much sense when we look at it from the perspective of logic. The moment Christ died, God considered us dead because the judgment of God on sin which says The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:20) was met. The sin issue was settled.

In the resurrection of Christ, we resurrected with Him not as the old man that was stained in sin but as new creatures. These things didn’t happen physically, it happened in a spiritual sense, it is what Christ achieved by dying in our stead. It is for this reason that Paul said: “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Because Christ died our death, we are now living His life, we are now all parts of Him and He remains the head of the body. Because these things happened in the Spiritual sense, Paul wrote further “The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ” This means, as we live in the physical, we should live by faith in Christ who has made our new life possible by giving his own life for us.

“In the spiritual sense of it, we were with Christ on that cross because Christ carried our sin problem to the cross!”

To live by faith in the Son of God means to live in agreement with what God has done concerning us. The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” You see that? Whosoever believes shall not perish but have eternal life. To believe means to live by faith in the son of God, that is to live in agreement with God. This is why the Bible says in John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Now watch this very closely, those who receive Him are those who believed in His name and it is to them He has given the power to become Children of God. Power here means right. We received the right to become God’s children the moment we accepted Jesus. Jesus was the only begotten son of God but by the reason of what Jesus did, we became adopted in His name.

Christ is the only means through which God would bring us to Himself. The Bible says “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” It is God’s plan that we are united to Him through Jesus and just as the Bible reports that God is pleased with Jesus, He is now pleased with us. This is because God isn’t seeing us anymore but Jesus. When God looks at us, He sees nothing but His dear son Jesus. If Christ now lives through me, it means the day I died with Christ was my end and my fresh new start began in Jesus and as Jesus.

“We received the right to become God’s children the moment we accepted Jesus.”

Before the death of Jesus, He said in John 14:2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” Many people understand this to be that Jesus is going to heaven to build houses for us but that is not what Jesus was saying. Let’s take a constructive look at that statement again. Jesus didn’t say “I am going there to prepare places for you…” He was talking to more than one person but He promised He was going to prepare a place. What is that place? We find the answer in the next verse which says And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” Jesus wasn’t talking about estates, it is something greater than that. He said, “…and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” Wherever Jesus is, is the place He has prepared for us but it gets more interesting in the proceeding verse when He said: “You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas asked “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” and Jesus gave an answer that has changed the entire world today. He said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It gets clearer here! Jesus said He is the way to this place He talked about but we also discover that the place He talked about is “the Father!” Amazingly, Jesus is one with the father and Jesus is the final destination of every believer! In Him, we find ourselves in God.

No wonder, the Bible says in the Epistle, Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus” We may not have experienced this in a physical sense, but it is true spiritually and we live in the physical by faith in the son of God. Take a look at that! When Christ was being raised up to heaven, we were being raised with Him. When Christ got seated with God in the heavenly realm, we got seated with God. When Jesus said to Mary Magdalene “I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” He was simply saying “my Father has become your Father because you have become me.” The presence of Jesus in the heavenly realm has got us all covered. God isn’t seeing us and our weaknesses again, this will sound absurd to the legalistic mind but God is seeing Jesus and Jesus alone. This is why we have become the body of Christ while Jesus is the head of the body. When God wants to look at us, He looks at Jesus and when we want to look at God, we look at Jesus.

“Amazingly, Jesus is one with the father and Jesus is the final destination of every believer! In Him, we find ourselves in God.”

Christ is man, Christ is God and Christ is the union of divinity and humanity, the new creatures in Christ Jesus is the replica of Christ and no wonder the people at Antioch looked at the disciples of Jesus and said: “these men are a replica of Christ!” (Act 11:26). Does this mean God got blind when we got saved? Does this mean God forgot we were ever us? Perhaps God forgot I am George? No, God has simply chosen to see us on the basis of what Christ has done, His acceptance is on the basis of Christ’s qualification. Whatever is Christ’s has become ours too! God treats us just the same way He would treat Christ. The Bible says in Romans 8:17 “Now if we are his children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” The Bible says we are co-heirs with Christ which indicates that we share an equal inheritance with Christ. Some translation calls it “joint-heirs” and it rings a bell! We have a joint account with Christ and everything that belongs to Christ belongs to us. This is how God wants it, this is what God has ordained and decided even before the foundations of this world. And Paul wrote something amazing here saying “if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” There are truths that get me crying and asking God “who am I that you are mindful of me?” This is one of that truth! The suffering of Christ on the cross has also been credited to us and just as we believe that we died with Christ, we ought to also believe that we share in His glory!

“We have a joint account with Christ and everything that belongs to Christ belongs to us. This is how God wants it…”

When Jesus saw the glory ahead of Him that made Him journey to that cross, He wasn’t being fascinated by it for Himself, He was seeing us being united with our father in heaven, He was seeing the big family of God extending to the ends of the earth! This is what the Bible says concerning us in Galatians 4:7 “So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, you are also an heir through God.” We are now sons of God, we are now called by the name of God and we can pride in the love of the father knowing that we’ve got no further deal with darkness, no deal with ancestral curses, no deal with hell, no deal with the old things. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” In Christ we have become new creatures, the old things are passed away. It was a no deal darkexit! We left darkness without any deal, without any further agreement and our allegiance changed forever! The new life in Christ is here and that is the level at which we operate at the moment. The next verse says “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” The only way God would reconcile us to Himself is in Christ, God is pleased with us and He sees us in Christ alone. This is why we are continuing in the order of Christ, to reconcile men with God.

“It was a no deal darkexit! We left darkness without any deal, without any further agreement and our allegiance changed forever!”

Do you see that now? Christ took our place that we might take His place. This is the glory of anyone who believes in Him, you have been crucified with Christ and now He lives through you and when God wants to look at you He looks at Christ. As we begin to round off on this article, you need to know this truth for yourself. The Bible says in Colossians 3:3 “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” The word “hidden” is gotten from the Greek word “κέκρυπται” which means “to conceal or keep secret” and this explains that our life has been concealed in Christ. God’s love has been made perfect in us, the perfection of this love is manifested in a way that we have become just like God in Christ Jesus. The Bible says 1 John 4:17 “This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world, we are like Jesus.” Are you still sceptical about your salvation? Are you still scared about certain things you are struggling within the flesh? Your body may not seem like it but you are just like God and the day Christ will appear, you will appear with Him because you are His body! (1 John 3:2)

You owe darkness nothing, this is why you should not continue in the deeds of the flesh because it doesn’t portray who you have become. You are just like Jesus! Hallelujah!

“Your body may not seem like it but you are just like God and the day Christ will appear, you will appear with Him because you are His body!”

BELIEVERS | THE LIGHT & SALT OF THE WORLD

:
To be light of the world is way more than just being a shining element in the world. It means being the medium of light for the entire world. Without the believer, the world remains in darkness! In fact, to be light of the world means the sustenance of this world is dependent on us. To put it in a better perspective, we are the real eyes with which the world ought to see and without us the world is in absolute darkness! We are the reason behind the preservation of this earth! This also says the same thing when the word says we are the salt of the earth! We bring taste to life, without us the world becomes tasteless. It would be put this way, “we give life in this world a meaning!”
:
Jesus didn’t call us a light or salt in the world! He called us the light and the salt of the world! This means the only kind of light and taste we produce is the only kind of light and taste the world is dependent on. However, this speaks more about what Jesus has done is us and what He expects us to do in the world. Making us the light and salt of the world means that He has put us in His place to continue what He has come to do. In Psalms 119:105, the Bible says “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Now, first we see that God’s word is what brings direction and without the word direction is lacking. So what about it? What is the connection between God’s word being the light and us being the light of the world? You’ll be able to connect all of this if you read patiently.
:
Jesus is the word of God which became flesh! The Bible says concerning Jesus in John 1:14 “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” Jesus is the personification of God’s word; the word of God in the figure of man! It will still be correct if we take the Psalmist words and put it this way “Jesus is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” It will make more sense if we put it using the perspective of the New Creation realities and it would read “Jesus is the lamp for my feet, the light on my path.” Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Now you see that? Jesus is that same word that has been the light to the feet of God’s faithful in the time past! No wonder He said “before Abraham, I am.” (John 8:58)
:
When we go back to the Psalmist again, we will see something profound that he said which is “The Lord is my light and my salvation…” (Psalm 27:1) This means God is his direction and the one mighty to save! Doesn’t this clearly define what Jesus came to do? Jesus brought salvation and also brought direction by His Spirit which is the Holy Spirit. And then, how does this concern the believer being the light of the world when Jesus has initially said same thing about Himself?
:
In a very simple statement, Jesus has put us in His place and everything Jesus is, is who we are too! In John 8:12, Jesus didn’t end by saying that He is the light of the world but He continued by saying that whosoever follow Him will never walk in darkness but have the light of life! He didn’t just say we will walk in light but said we will have the light of life! Jesus said to His disciples in John 12:36 “Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” He said this before His death but in the now, anyone that believes in Jesus has Jesus and have become children of light! We are Children of light and children of a lion cannot grow into something less than lion! It is in this regard that we are the people the world depends on for sight! Actually, we are carriers of God’s presence and the world ought to see it, they are depending on us!
:
Light isn’t a label, it is an agent that stimulates sight and brings everything into visibility! When Jesus said we are the light of the world He also said “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) The reason Jesus made us lights of the world and to shine in His own capacity is not to exhibit some kind of new tech, it is so that the world can see acts of righteousness and give glory to God! Our shinning doesn’t bring glory to self but to God! I remember one time I went to purchase something and my change was so much over paid! I walked out of the shop and realized it and two thoughts came! One said maybe it’s God’s way of blessing me and another said “shine the light!” I knew God’s blessings wouldn’t come with sorrow to another person and so I walked back to the shop and returned the money. She was excited and I told her “God said I should return it.” I know it ended in giving God glory!
:
When Jesus said “let your light shine…” it means one can be the light and never shine! But He said we should allow the light to shine, it is our duty to allow it shine! God cannot force the light to shine out of us but He has made us lights and we ought to shine! The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ” You see that, right? God has put us in the position of priests to serve Him and be living sacrifices to Him! We have been authorized to worship Him and until one is put into this priesthood, he can’t worship God! The duty of us as priests is clearly written in that same verse and that duty is to declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light! We have been called into God’s wonderful light and nothing changes that! But then, we must shine in this capacity for people to see the person of God in us!
:
To shine means to express and bring something into visibility. The world depends on us to understand the person of Jesus, they depend on us to see what God would do in every given situation. Previously we see that Jesus has put us in His place and therefore we must consciously put Jesus on the display. Love is the way to shine! There is no other way to shine than loving people both sinners and our enemies! The Bible says in Philippians 2:15 “that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,” it is among a crooked and twisted generation that we shine like lights! It is through us that they actually see Jesus and surrender to Him. Just like Jesus said “if you have seen me, you have seen God.” We can confidently say “if you have seen me, you have seen Jesus.” It is in the formation of Christ in us that we progress in the capacity with which we shine. God wants us to make progress and walk in righteousness. Being a believer is nice but God wants us to pass that level of just believing and also start doing! If darkness is still lurking around where we are, it means we aren’t shinning yet! It is not right that you are still surrounded by very immoral people and you aren’t doing anything about it, it is also not right that you are born again but still acting like a sinner! You must shine and you also ought to give a better taste to people.
:
The ultimate way to shine this light is to open the eyes of unbelievers with the preaching and showing of God’s love, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me (Act 26:18). By the sharing of the gospel, we are making Jesus known and we are exposing His love to our audience. Now that you are saved, go and shine!

TAKE THE YEAR NOW | SHINE BRIGHTER

Onyedikachukwu George Nnadozie with Wisdom :
It is the year of the Lord as always, Christ being our place is the realest thing about the status of a believer. The day we accepted the Lordship of Jesus, we became new creatures, though we may not have had a serious different experience in the flesh, we know that something got brand new! The real us became new and old things passed away without any trace, they became non-existence in our Spirit. Even though we may still feel the urgeurgue to do things that aren’t appropriate, we know we are not how we feel, we are not even what we experience in the flesh but we can actually influence how we feel, we can influence what we experience by God’s word. As believers, we can impose what has happened in our spirit in the physical.
:
The Bible says in Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewingreneweing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect.” The world has a way they go about everything, the world have a way they define what success is, they have a way they think about relationships and all of that. For instance, in Matthew 6:31-32 we see that the world struggle for what to eat and drink, they struggle for what to wear and where to live, they make it what they are living for and they go about like people without hope, making it a do or die affair. But Jesus said those things shouldn’t be any of our worries because we have a father who knows we need all of these things and we are hopeful in him knowing that God doesn’t just leave us in the middle of no where, He sees us through it all.
:
When we understand that God cares about us, we will boldly work with gratitude in mind knowing that God blesses the works of our hands. Knowing this, we continue living our lives peacefully and with absolute trust in God with an understanding that God’s wish for us for the rest of our lives on earth is to be prosperous in the physical even as He has prospered us spiritually. He never automated this process, it is a process we will intentionally key into if we want to see God’s wish for our life manifest. By being intentional, we are agreeing with God that His wish for us will be met. The Bible says that we should be transformed by constantly renewing our mind which is only when we can be able to test and approve what God’s will for us is. We can never know what God’s perfect will for us is when we continue living like the world people does. For instance, you can never know God’s perfect will for you when you keep living in fear of the unknown, when you keep saying the wrong words like the world does, when you keep being negative about the year, thinking it will be like every other year in the past. It is when you consistentlytenty study God’s word that your mind keeps getting renewed! Your mind isn’t your Spirit, your mind was never made new. The experiences of the past is still stored there, the pictures of the past can still play out. You have to keep filling up the mind with the right things until it outweighs what has been there previously.
:
We are in a new year and there is nothing new except what you decide to make new. Nothing changes except what you decide to change and the theme of the year declared by your Pastor will never make sense except you make it your personal focus for the year. Words become powerful when they become our meditation, it should not be taken casually. The reason why a lot of people start up the year with great optimismoptismism and still end it in disappointments is because sometimes we get excited about the beginning but we do not work towards achievingacheieving what has been declared. This year, make up your mind to be serious and intentional with succeeding. You really never had to wait for new year to begin but if you had waited, its still fine to start now. Be intentional with the character you display, be intentional with who you hang out with and be intentional with what you show people about yourself. You are not what you do but that is what peoplepeope understands about you, you should display who you are.
:
The Bible says in Phillipians 2:14 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among who you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life…”
:
You see, we are so different from the worldly people! We are not meant to be as angry and bitter as them, God wants us to lead a very peaceful life and to be without blame even as we are surrounded by people who can influence us negatively if we let them to. When others are bitter, we can be sweet, when others are hating we can be loving and this is how we display who we are, this is how we shine as lights in the midst of darkness. We can do this by holding fast to the word of life, that is the word of God written to and for us. It is something we will do deliberately, God wants us to make that choice ourselves. Jesus in John 1:9 was referred to as light to everyone and because Christ is in us, that light is shinning through us and it can only shine in the capacity we let it to. I’ll like us to note some few points that will guide us for the rest of the year if we can always pick it up and check ourselves with it.
:
1. RECOGNISE YOUR DIFFERENCE: We are not the same with everyone else, we are not the same with the people of this world and no matter how much we love them and want them to come to the knowledge of the truth we cannot imitate them in a bid to get them, we win them over with our love. While they live in darkness, lies, hate and confusion, we cast off all of those works of darkness and put on the armor of light as the bible says in Romans 13:12. In the physical, we are the ones to intentionally shine! The world run after pleasures and selfish gains that doesn’t last but we live our lives in a different way, we live for Jesus and the Bible says in Romans 13:14 that we should put on the Lord Jesus Christ and give no room to the flesh or meet its desires. This means while it is good to make money and have fun, we do not live for these things, these things aren’t the essence of our making.
:
2. BE BOLD TO SHINE: We have seen earlier that we can shine as lights and it is something we do intentionally. The Bible says in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before others…” We bring light to dark areas and darkness disappears disapears. We can shine by being bold enough to go out, meet people, get close to them and start influencing them positively. We can shine by building relationship with people and by being committed to their lives and growth. It doesn’t end in telling them about Jesus, we ought to show them Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you are introverted, don’t kill yourself about what you can’t do but trust God to always create for you an enabling environment to reach people and always be sincere in praying for others. You find confidence in the place of prayer and as the word becomes more real to you. Also lead by example, don’t just be lazy thinking prayer solves it all. Find something doing, if you had started doing something, be intentional about improving. God wants you to make money too, use your God-given creativity and affect lives! In my previous teachings I have dealt so much on this.
:
3. GIVE JESUS THE CREDIT: A lot of times people want to win people to themselves. Some people want loyalists to themselves not for the sake of the gospel but for the sake of proving a point or becoming idolized. Jesus didn’t just asked us to shine like lights, he continued to say “so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven” There is only a very unrecognizable difference between showing off and shinning! People who show off may do exactly what people who shine as lights do, they do it for self recognition but we do it for Jesus, we give Jesus the credit! This is chieflycheifly a condition of the heart and you must consciously start shinning just to bring glory to God and not to yourself.
:
4. SAY THE RIGHT THINGS: What you say reflects the condition of your heart and in the law court what you say but never meant can even be used to judge you. As someone whose heart has been changed, choose to say the right things only. Don’t talk like the world both in their negative thinking and corrupt practices. Don’t say you are finished, don’t say the year will be worst than that of the past and don’t also use curse words. The Bible says in James 3:8 that the tongue can be full of deadly poison. Somewhere else the Bible says that the tongue has power over life and death! The Bible says in Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion occassion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” You say the right things for yourself and for others! What you listen to can also affect your words so you have to carefully select the songs you listen to, the movies you watch, the kinds of people you pay attention to. This also includes choosing who to connect to on the social media and who not to connect to. The social media is becoming a part of our life that we can’t deny. You don’t just say the right things offline, also do them online. You don’t know how many lives you affect with what you do online. Shine everywhere!
:
There are many other points but these are the basics! Leading a very peaceful and quiet life should be your desire this year. What areas of your life do you feel you need to work on? Start doing it now! It is not because it is a new year and it is not because what you did today can have an ultimate say for the rest of your year but it is because you have been reminded again that time doesn’t wait for any man and that whatever it is you had wanted to do, this is the right time to do it.
:
Every day belongs to God and this year is also THE YEAR OF THE LORD! Move in this consciousness. Take you year now!

THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD

:
The Bible is the documentation of God’s program on earth. This is where you see the purpose of God’s creation and what He intends to achieve. The word of God must be read for the Holy Spirit to reveal it’s meaning. When you don’t study the word of God, you aren’t eating the right diet that gets you equipped to receive and sustain the revelations of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus (God) operational on earth. And the Holy Spirit isn’t bringing new words, new teachings and new doctrines! The Holy Spirit established the already spoken word of God, He is bringing the word to our remembrance. He translates the spiritual weight of the word of God into a material in our soul which renews us and continue forming in us the very image of Jesus Christ.
:
All over the Bible, we see very strong places that explains how God works on earth. In the Old Testament, God was known as the one whose throne in heaven and in the New Testament, God pitched His tent among men in the person of Jesus. While mere minds couldn’t conceptualize that mystery, Jesus said in in John 12:49 “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” Because of the blindness of men in that time, Jesus wouldn’t come up to say “I am the Father.” He was speaking to men who had no revelation.
:
However, what Jesus was saying in the above verse is “My words are the words of God.” He said in John 14:9
:
“If you have seen me, you have seen the father.”
:
We also see Jesus using the same concept to talk about the Holy Spirit, He said in John 16:13
:
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
:
You see that? The Holy Spirit will speak only what He shall hear. What was that thing He was going to hear? Jesus answered that previously in John 15:26
:
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.”
:
First, Jesus said He will send the Holy Spirit from the Father and He referred to Him as the Spirit of truth. Recall, Jesus said He himself is the truth! And He said the Holy Spirit will testify of Him. Another question is what will the Holy Spirit testify of Jesus? We see the answer in John 14:26. He will bring all things Jesus had said to our remembrance. He will bring Jesus into our consciousness. Jesus explained in the Bible that He isn’t working independent of God and the Holy Spirit which also proceeds from God isn’t working independent of Jesus.
:
Concerning the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of Christ, Paul wrote in Galatians 4:6 that God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son (Jesus) into our heart. The Holy Spirit is how Jesus lives in all believers. I had to take time to explain this because of the role the Holy Spirit plays in the believer. Since the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, the word of God must be read for the Holy Spirit to find resources that He will bring to our remembrance and make it known to us. While the Holy Spirit is in all believers, we can only get revelations as deep as our hunger for the word of God. You aren’t going to ignore the word of God and expect revelations of the word to be flying in at all times. It is when you open the word and start meditating on it that the Holy Spirit begins to open the eyes of your understanding so that you’ll get to know what the word is saying. Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible is another literature. When we study the word, we are opening our hearts for the Holy Spirit to fill our thoughts with the revelation of Jesus.
:
The Holy Spirit also helps us in proper interpretation of the word of God. A lot of people quote the word out of context. They are sincere but sincerely wrong. Sincerity isn’t enough in the ministry of the kingdom, it must take hunger and constant eating of the spiritual diet to be built up.
:
The word of God wasn’t written by mere men with there mere mind. It was inspired by the Spirit of God which is the Spirit of Christ. So we can also use the word to interpret the word. The word of God is self sufficient and in no way needs our experiences and other strange documents from diverse religions to be understood. For instance, in the Bible, Luke 11:20 reported Jesus to have said
:
“But if I with the FINGER OF GOD cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you”
:
I emphasized “the finger of God” because this is what many would find difficult to interpret or explain. What was Jesus referring to as God’s finger? Was it His finger? It would have still be great if Jesus was referring to His finger as God’s finger but it was something far more than that. We would see some places in the Old Testament where the same words were used including in Egypt! To understand it, we must look at the Bible again. Matthew 12:28 explains to us what the finger of God is and I believe the Holy Spirit made it this way so that we can understand what has often being referred to as the finger of God. Matthew by the Holy Spirit wrote
:
“But if I cast out devils by the SPIRIT OF GOD, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.”
:
We wouldn’t have known what it is if there wasn’t a complementing part of the Bible that brings the explanation. This is part of what the Holy Spirit starts doing in believers. Remember, the writers of the Bible (not the authors) wrote by the influence of the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16 says the Scripture in it’s entirety is God-breathed. Another example of how the Holy Spirit brings clarity to the word of God using the word of God can be found in Matthew 7:11
:
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give GOOD THINGS to them that ask him?”
:
Many would interpret the above emphasis to mean material things because Jesus compared good gifts with good things which God was going to give. But many would ignore the fact that Jesus also compared evil but earthly fathers with our good heavenly father. What was the good things Jesus was talking about here? It would have been great if Jesus was talking about money, clothes and all that! Of course, somewhere else in the Bible we understand that God supplies our needs and even our wants but this particular place in the Bible is talking about something better and superior. We will find the answer in Luke 11:13 which says
:
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the HOLY SPIRIT to them that ask him?”
:
Now you see, the good things Jesus was taking about is the Holy Spirit. Why would Matthew use a plural word “things” when Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit? It is because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and in Him all things consist. The good things God would give you is the Holy Spirit and when you have the Holy Spirit, you have all things! No wonder, the Holy Spirit teaches all things!
:
It is the Holy Spirit that authored the Bible and He wants us to understand things much more deeper. That is why we see good things meaning the Holy Spirit and we see the finger of God meaning the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God) too. These things aren’t in the Bible just like that, the Holy Spirit clearly placed it there for clarification. So, even when we understand the Word of God using another part of the Word, it is still the Holy Spirit explaining all things to us. I would show us yet another example. Jesus said in Matthew 16:19
:
“And I will give unto thee the KEYS of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
:
The question is, what are the keys of the kingdom of heaven that Jesus talks about? We should note that Matthew always used “the kingdom of Heaven” to refer to as the “kingdom of God”. So it is still safe to say Jesus talked about the keys to the kingdom of God here. We must also note that the kingdom of God signifies the entire universe and creation of God because God’s kingly domain isn’t limited to anywhere. With this key, things can be bound and things can be loosed. There are so many places where same word “key” was used but we can understand what these keys are by their function. Remember with this key things can be bound and loosed. In Luke 11:52, Jesus said that the experts in the Jewish law have taken away the key of knowledge which have prevented others from entering into the kingdom and much as they too couldn’t enter. The Bible also said “my people perish because they lack knowledge” and elsewhere it says “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
:
The key of the kingdom means the key of knowledge which in turn means the knowledge of Jesus. Jesus is the only one who sets free and it is knowing the person of Jesus that guarantees freedom. Many have used that verse out of context, they want to think it means the moment you declare someone blind, heaven endorses it. No, that’s not what the Bible teaches. Jesus was saying “with this key, people can be saved and people can be condemned.” The Bible says the gospel is God’s power unto salvation to anyone who believes (Romans 1:16, John 3:16) which means anyone who doesn’t believe stands in condemnation (John 3:18) because only in Jesus can anyone be saved (Act 4:12).
:
In Matthew 18:18 we also see how unrepentant sinners should be handled and it uses the same concept of binding and loosing. This simply has to do with the authority of God’s word which when practiced is an extension of God’s authority here on earth. Now, when we hear about the keys of the kingdom and about binding and loosing it means we have been given authority to preach the gospel and get people delivered out of darkness into God’s marvelous light. It also means anyone who rejects this gospel stands condemned already.
:
Now you see how the Holy Spirit can always use the word to also bring meaning to the word. All of those things are the workings of the Holy Spirit. There are several other ways the Holy Spirit brings clarity to the word. It is the gift of ministers, evangelists, teachers, prophets, pastors and so on! The Holy Spirit can use them to bring clarity to what you had read previously in the Bible. Concerning them, the Bible says in Ephesians 4:11-14 that ministers has been given by Christ for the maturity of saints until when all things shall become perfect. Ministry gift is also an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit to mature us in the things of Christ which can only be done with the word of God.
:
On a final note, you must be given to the word of God if you want to have more revelation of this word. While it isn’t your duty to configure revelations, it is your duty to be intentional about the word of God. In John 5:39 we see Jesus saying that the scripture is the witness of Him. The scripture tells more of Jesus, eternal life is in Jesus and not in the scriptures but the scriptures and the word of God in it’s entirety are the testimonies of Jesus. So, when we keep searching the scriptures, the Holy Spirit keeps shedding light on the person of Jesus. The word is ineffective without the Spirit and the Spirit works in the proportion of the capacity we have been able to building by the word.
:
Blessings.

THE GOD OFFICE

God is not His name.
God is His office.
:
I remember serving as a President of a youth ministry some years ago and it seemed many even forgot my name and started calling me “Presido”, it never stopped till date. Even some members of my family didn’t call me my name anymore, they would just refer to me as “Presido”. Sometimes I would call someone on phone with an unfamiliar phone line and he or she would ask “please who am I speaking with?” and I’ll respond “George” and they will still not know who was talking with them until I say “okay… I am Presido” and I’d feel reverence in their voice afterwards.
:
Well, Presido was never my name for once but it was an office I occupied, an identity that defined my responsibility and not a nickname. My name remained George. I also remember I had members of the decision making body as a President, we would sit together and make decisions. And whether it was I or the Secretary that declared something, it was still believed to be coming from the office of the President.
:
It is not a sin to refer to Him as God just as we can call a president “the president”, but God is not a name but an office. In that office of God, we are members of the ruling cabinet just as there are members of the Presidency. The Angels aren’t part of the God-office anyway, the Bible says God has made man a little lower than Elohim. In Psalm 8:5, the translators of KJV found it too hard to really point out what the Bible said there, I’d say they were afraid but the Bible never really said God has made us a little lower than Angels. The word translated as Angels in that verse is Elohim from the original Hebrew, it is a word usually used in Hebrew writings as God’s name which means “The Master of All”. So, the Bible said God has made us a little lower than Himself who is the Master of all. The Bible also said we were crowned with honor and glory! If we were made little lower Ghana Angels, how can we be crowned with honor and glory? It wouldn’t even be news-worthy. But we were crowned with honor and glory because we were made a little lower than God.
:
The Bible then went further to say in Psalm 82:6 “Ye are gods…” the word translated “gods” here is a plural form of “Elohim” which means “ye are Masters of all.” Jesus confirmed it yet again in John 10:34 that God’s original design for man was to exercise the Divine-Diminion mandate. God made man to be Gods who rule on His behalf from earth. The devil ripped man off that identity but Jesus came to restore us to the place God has designed us to be and even more.
:
Having understood this, let’s get a bit further. The presidency is not a person, it includes the president and all functionality arms. In the same way, God is more than a person, it includes the different functionality arms of God in which we are operating. It pleased God to make us part of that office. It pleased Him to call us Gods, it pleased Him to bring us in union with Himself in Christ. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:17 “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit.” The Believer is an authority.
:
The Believer’s place is Christ and the desire of anyone should Christ. In Christ all things consist. We are sure that anywhere Christ is, we are there because we are in Him. Christ is the place humanity got united with divinity and it birthed what is known today as the New Creature. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we see that whosoever is in Christ is a new creature, the old identity is passed away and every thing has become new.
:
Heaven is His throne. (Matthew 5:34, Isaiah 66:1). It doesn’t mean heaven is His Home. A throne is a seat of operation and Home is a place of dwelling. The most important thing right now is that we live in Him and He lives in us! Every single believer is a living stone making up God’s spiritual house. What a mystery! God designed a home in us and also made Himself our home. What a glorious thing to be a part of God.

BELIEVER’S VICTORY OVER SIN

:
“For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” – Romans 6:7‭-‬11 NLT
:
The believer in Christ Jesus remains an alien to sin because in the world of sin he has ceased to exist. We are dead to sin, we cannot reverse back from a righteous man to a sinner. We are righteous by the reason of what Jesus did and it is irreversible. Now, it would be an insult to the works of Jesus to address a believer as a sinner and it would also be inappropriate for a believer to be in constant identification with the works of the flesh which is results of what the sin left over in the body.
:
There are only two parts of Christ which is the head and the body. The Bible says Jesus is the head of Christ and we are His body. Death lost dominion over Christ and we are the body of Christ. We are dead to sin and can’t be “deader” than we have died.
:
We are not dead in sin, we are dead to sin. We have been disconnected from sin, we have checked out of sin. Just as Jesus is no longer in the tomb, we are no longer in sin. Jesus can’t be found among the dead anymore and therefore we cannot be found in sin. The Bible says “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 6:11 NIV.
:
You ought to be able to count yourself dead to sin, it is first of all a mindset before it begins to reflect on your attitudes. The Bible says there is no connection between the living and the dead, since you are dead to sin and alive in Christ, there is no connection between you and sin.
:
When the Bible says you are dead to sin, it means when sin looks for you, it can’t find you because you don’t exist to it anymore. Sin may find the dead body, he may find dead skin but it can’t find you who is now a new creature in Christ Jesus. And as we renew our mind, those leftovers starts disappearing! The truth remains, we are dead to sin but living in Christ who is now our Lord. The transformation of the body will continue until the last days but no matter the struggle, count yourself dead to sin. Paul calls it a secret but let me also shock you with it. Hear him
:
“But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? ” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-55
:
You see that? What Jesus already did will be perfected in the last days when we will finally wear off this flesh. We can only manage the flesh now by renewing our mind daily with God’s word because the word of God tells us who we are and the knowledge of who we are also dictates to us how we should live. What ever God calls to be becomes what He called it to be and if God says you are righteous, there is nothing you can do about it. This will be hard for folks who are bent on legalism.
:
When God said “let there be light” it means “allow light to proceed!” it was a forceful command. In the same way the Bible says “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.” – Romans 6:12 ESV. We can now forcefully disallow sin because we are dead to it. Sin is no longer authoritative in us because we have broken free from sin and death. Sin has been unseated from our lives, we therefore shouldn’t allow sin to reign because we are above it. How can you let what you have defeated still have dominion over you? How can you let someone you won in a fight still put you to flight?
:
The Bible says “Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.”- Romans 6:13 ESV. Look at that! One of the ways to let sin reign is by yielding our body as instruments for unrighteous living. We can not let sin reign by presenting our bodies as living sacrifice with the mindset that we have been brought from death to life. The next verse says “For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” – Romans 6:14 ESV. Sin have lost the power to dominate us as believers because we have been taken out of the rule of law to the rule of Grace. Under law, there is no capacity to live above sin but under Grace there is no capacity for sin to rule over the believer. We live above sin by the Grace of God. We do not live above sin because we tried avoiding wrong doing, we avoid wrong doing because we live above it and won’t let it dictate our lives anymore.
:
We have been set free from the demands of the law for even the gentiles were marked as rejected for the fact the law wasn’t given to them. The law had demands which we cannot meet and we have been placed under grace which gives us no such demands. Jesus fulfilled all the demands of the law for our sake and handed over to us a clean record as though we were the ones who fulfilled it. He came in our place that we might live in His place.
:
The first thing God desires in men is to believe in what He has done for their salvation. The highest form of obedience in the New Testament is to believe in Jesus as your Lord and savior. Concerning believers the Bible says “But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed.” – Romans 6:17 ESV.
:
We are first obedient from the heart before we can subject our body to righteousness. Our heart was made right by the gospel which we have believed. This is why the Bible says we won’t perish if we believe. Obedience is better than sacrifice, that is to say, obeying the word (as in believing) is better than making sacrifices for the sake of sin. We live as sacrifices in ourselves. This is why the Bible isn’t asking believers to obey anymore but rather to do the word. To obey is to believe, to do is to enforce.
:
The law is a constitution of slavery, it is a clear display of the limitations of your flesh. The best you can be under the law is a slave. But under Grace we are free, free to live and free to worship. It is under grace that one who was once a slave becomes a king and a priest. Just as Isaac was to Abraham, we are the Children of promise and not those born under slavery. When you take a look at the story of Abraham, we see something profound. Ishmael was a child born out of lack of faith in God’s promises, it was a product of self-efforts, a product of a trial to help God out in doing what He said He will do. God would still refer to Isaac as Abraham’s son because that was God’s own plans for Abraham. God doesn’t recognize your efforts done out of fear and lack of faith in Him. The Bible says “The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise.” – Galatians 4:23 NLT
:
When we teach about the believer’s victory over sin, lots of believers get worried. Because they still struggle with an addiction, they want to think there is something not right about what they believe. They want to think there is more they need to do or maybe they aren’t even yet born again. Sometimes they even start bringing in their own efforts to see if it would work out! The Bible says
:
“So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world? You are trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or months or seasons or years.” – Galatians 4:9‭-‬10 NLT
:
Let me bring this to your notice. Instant change is not a lasting change, the law might have seem instantaneous in results but it was never a lasting result, it was mere shadows. Grace brought about a new life entirely and begins to deal with the mind. Under Grace there is room for renewal of the mind, there is room for gradual change and you aren’t under any pressure. Jesus saved us from the pressures of the law and the flesh. Grace produces permanent results and is the only means of salvation. Grace is our victory over sin? How is that possible?
:
On the note of finality, the Bible says “For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds” – Titus 2:11‭-‬14 NLT
:
You see that? Grace is a teacher, it teaches us to say no to sin. Christ gave his life to free us from every kind of sin and make us His very own people. A day shall come when we will be salvaged from the flesh entirely and until that day comes, we can live in this evil world with wisdom, good doings and devotion to God, our father.
:
God bless you.
